They wanted to eliminate the need for volunteers to collect time consuming personal information on tablets, creating a faster, more secure entry experience, while encouraging member renewal or sign-up.

We used our TICKTEAM API add on technology (TICKTEAM membership boost plug-in) in conjunction with the physical on-site kiosk, which only allowed one piece of data: an email address. This streamlined approach reduced barriers to membership sign-up at the charity site entrance and significantly increased membership growth, generating nearly six figures in income.
Turning Engagement into Revenue:
Collecting emails on-site was just the beginning; we needed to convert that engagement into active memberships without manual effort. Our solution involved creating a real-time integration using the kiosk’s API. When a visitor claims a membership, the terminal securely pings the website API to process the order and send a “Welcome & Activate” email — all within minutes. This speed ensures a seamless experience for visitors and staff.
No More “I’ll Sign Up Later”:
We all tend to say, “I’ll do that later,” but this system eliminates that barrier. Activation has become frictionless, resulting in steadily increasing rates. Initially, activation rates were in the high 60s to low 70s, but since implementation they have soared to over 95%.
Ongoing Improvements:
Since launching, the platform has seen enhancements, including automated reminder emails, which helped recover an additional 7% of otherwise inactive memberships. This has directly contributed to rising activation rates and a stronger revenue stream for the charity.
